Should I file my civil case in Circuit or Magistrate Court?

If the amount is $7500 or less, the case should be filed in Magistrate Court. If it’s more than $7500, it should be filed in Circuit Court.

What is the difference between General Sessions Court and Common Pleas?

General Sessions Court is used for felony and misdemeanor cases that carry penalties of more than 30 days in jail and/or more than a $500 fine. The Court of Common Pleas is used for civil cases.
